Amici Trust and Waterlea Primary School

The Amici Trust is delighted to be partnering with Waterlea Primary School to bring Disney's Moana JR. to life, supporting the return of a school production to the Waterlea community after several years.

Waterlea Primary School in Māngere has always recognised the value of performing arts and the important role a school production can play in building confidence, creativity, collaboration and connection. However, like many schools, having the time, resources and specialist expertise required to stage a production can be challenging.

Through this partnership, The Amici Trust is funding the production and working alongside PForm NZ to provide specialist creative support, helping the school bring this exciting opportunity to its students. Together, we are creating a pathway for students to experience all aspects of musical theatre, from performing on stage to developing teamwork, discipline and confidence through the rehearsal and production process.

This project reflects The Amici Trust's commitment to making the performing arts more accessible and supporting communities to create meaningful opportunities for people to learn, participate and grow.

We look forward to following the students' journey as they prepare to share Disney's Moana JR. with their community 15—17 September 2026.
