Campbell Rose

Trustee

Campbell’s musical theatre journey began in 1987 when he played piano for Massey High School’s Bugsy Malone, sparking a passion that led to many school and community productions. Since 1991 he has worked extensively with companies including Playhouse Theatre, North Shore Music Theatre, Auckland Music Theatre, Papakura Theatre Company, Centrestage Theatre Company and Amici.

As a performer, Campbell has enjoyed roles such as Keys 1 in Matilda (Amici, 2024), Miss Saigon (North Shore Music Theatre, 2011) and Les Misérables (Amici, 2019), Keys 2 in Chess – the Concert (Amici, 2022) and Keys 4 in The Phantom of the Opera (1997). Alongside performing, he has been a dedicated creative‑team member, musically directing Little Shop of Horrors (twice), Nunsense, Big River, Jesus Christ Superstar, and providing vocal direction for Chess and A Chorus Line. He is also a regular audition pianist, relishing the chance to support performers to be their best.

Campbell met his wife, Megan, through theatre, and their children Amelia and Josh have followed in their footsteps, performing widely in youth theatre and most recently with Encore Theatre Collective and Amici. Beyond the stage, Campbell is a tax partner at Deloitte and brings his legal and business expertise—along with deep theatre experience—to the Amici Trust. He previously established the framework for the Northern Area Performance Theatre Awards and served on the North Shore Music Theatre committee, contributing to the continued growth and sustainability of musical‑theatre opportunities for emerging talent.
