Matilda The Musical is the multi-award winning musical inspired by the beloved book by the incomparable Roald Dahl.
Inspired by the twisted genius of Roald Dahl, the Tony Award-winning Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical is the captivating masterpiece that revels in the anarchy of childhood, the power of imagination and the inspiring story of a girl who dreams of a better life. With the book by Dennis Kelly and original songs by Tim Minchin this musical is a winner of over 100 international awards and continues to thrill sold-out audiences of all ages around the world.
“As for the children themselves, they are irresistible, stomping and skipping through some marvellous choreography through both this show and through life, demonstrating that growing up is a lifelong endeavour. For kids, yes, but also for the children that we all remain at heart, this is wise, wicked, glorious fun.”
— Malcolm Calder, New Zealand Arts Review
“The show is of course named after its lead character, but the larger than life Trunchbull usually steals the show, and Keenan-Davies did not disappoint. From the music to the costuming and set, to the glorious cast, this was an almost perfect delivery of this famous musical.”
“There is something about the nostalgia of this story and Tim Minchin’s lyrics and music that erupts so many emotions in me. I was close to tears on a few occasions but by the end there was no holding back as tears flowed over the pure joy of this show and the wonderful performances.”
